Ocean Planning Director
Dani recently relocated back to Maine after several years in Hawaii, where she worked as State Co-Manager for the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument. Before her time in the Pacific, she worked for NOAA’s Coastal Services Center. Similar to NROC, these previous positions were focused on state and federal partners working collaboratively on ocean and coastal management issues. Her earlier work experiences have involved seafloor mapping, GIS, and education. Dani has a B.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Maine and an M.S. in Marine Resource Management from Oregon State University.
John has worked in the environmental field for thirteen years, focusing on coastal and ocean management. As the Ocean Planning Director for NROC, he provides strategic direction for implementing ocean planning. He previously served as the Ocean Program Manager for the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management, where he managed the development and implementation of the Massachusetts Ocean Management Plan, completed in 2009. John’s experience also includes review of urban waterfront, dredging, coastal erosion, and wetland restoration projects. He has a B.S. in Coastal Geology from Long Island University and an M.S. in Marine Resource Management from Oregon State University.
